Additionally, in conjunction with the main campus safety walk, the UNM Health Science Center hosts a north campus safety walk Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. Interested participants should meet in room 3010 in Domenici West.

Faculty, staff and student volunteers are needed for the HSC walk. For more information, contact Stella Ramos, (505) 272-8564 or email, beramos@salud.unm.edu.

Campus safety walks are a great opportunity for the UNM community to identify problemmatic safety areas and express concerns about those areas.

“The campus safety walk gives the UNM campus community the opportunity to have a say in how safe they feel their campus is at night," said Rob Burford, student conduct officer. "Giving approximately one hour or less of your time can make a difference for thousands on campus."

The campus walks are held twice a year in the spring and fall semesters. Participants walk around campus in teams identifying issues with campus lighting, emergency phones, landscape hazards and any other safety concerns they think need to be addressed.
