Employee Health Promotion Program's new lifestyle campaign, "Spring into Motion," is a self-paced, six-week pedometer (step tracker) program designed to increase physical activity and awareness. The program is intended to enlighten people of their current physical activity level, and encourage them to increase future physical activity. Registration is Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Wednesday, March 9.

Participants receive a free pedometer to help track daily physical activity. Those who report steps five out of the six weeks are entered in a raffle for prizes. And as an additional benefit, six local gyms throughout Albuquerque offer a free, week-long membership to all participants.

The cost is $20 per person and UNM benefits eligible employees can use tuition remission. The program runs Monday, March 21 through Sunday, May 1.

Registration includes the completion of the following forms and pre-fitness measurement consisting of blood pressure, height, weight, body fat and waist circumference. There are three ways to register.

•Private registration for groups of fifteen or more is available upon request from Feb. 22 through March 1. Please call 277-3371 for this arrangement.

•Prescheduled outreach registration for all individuals or groups will be offered March 2-9. This is available to all walk-ins and does not require an appointment. Visit: Spring into Motion for a complete schedule.

•Individual registration and assessments in the Exercise Physiology lab (Johnson Center, room B-143) call 277-2658 for an appointment (this is not on a walk-in basis).
