The University of New Mexico Naval ROTC is celebrating its 75th anniversary during Homecoming Week 2016 with events including a rededication ceremony, retirement ceremony and Naval Luncheon.
UNM’s Naval ROTC invites all alumni, faculty, staff and community members to join the celebration for the following events:
- Anniversary & Rededication Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel on UNM’s main campus. Celebrate 75 years of education and service. Reception to follow at the Naval Science Building.
- Retirement celebration for Admiral David Gale (‘83) at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Naval Sciences Building. Reception to follow in the Willard Room of Zimmerman Library.
- Naval ROTC Luncheon at noon on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Naval Science Building.

The UNM Naval ROTC also invites all its guests to attend the UNM Alumni Association’s annual Open House & Silent Auction, held from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Hodgin Hall Alumni Center. Get ready to howl for an evening of fun, live entertainment and delicious refreshments while perusing the fabulous auction items from our generous donors. Proceeds from the silent and online auctions support the UNM Alumni Association Scholarship Fund and alumni programs.
Mark your calendars for the pre-game tailgates on Saturday, Oct. 1, before watching the mighty Lobos defeat the San Jose State Spartans at 2 p.m. at University Stadium.
With more than 50 events on the calendar during Homecoming Week 2016 there will be an event, lecture series, reunion, open house or tailgate opportunity to fit everyone’s interests. A full schedule of events can be found online.
