Beginning Monday, Oct. 17, UNM Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) will adjust the morning Alvarado Transportation Center (ATC) shuttle service from two morning shuttle runs from the downtown ATC to main campus to one run at 7:31 a.m. The change in service will eliminate the underutilized 6:30 a.m. shuttle from the ATC to main campus. PATS will continue both afternoon shuttles from campus to the ATC.

"We adjusted our ATC shuttle service to address changes in the N.M. Railrunner Express schedule at the end of August," said Robert Nelson, PATS' interim director. "We have found that the 6:30 a.m. service is not capturing any ridership. However, ridership on our 7:31 a.m. ATC shuttle remains strong."

The UNM ATC shuttle was designed to streamline the connection between the downtown transportation center and main campus for the regular alternative transportation commuter. It is not the only way students, staff and faculty are getting to campus from downtown.

"We know many individuals are taking advantage of the ABQRide free bus pass program to travel between downtown and main campus," said Nelson. "Between ABQRide service and our shuttle service, our commuters have options."

There are currently several ABQRide buses that provide frequent service between the downtown ATC to campus. For detailed information visit ABQ Destinations  or contact PATS' Transportation Information Center in the SUB, open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 277-1920 or email:

The last day for the 6:30 a.m. UNM ATC shuttle will be Friday, Oct. 14.
