UNM will welcome materials scientists in the Rio Grande corridor to a general technical meeting on campus for the 22nd Annual Rio Grande Symposium on Advanced Materials on Oct. 11, 2010 in the Student Union Building on UNM's main campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  This symposium is a great opportunity for materials scientists to give local presentations as they prepare for national meetings.  It is also a good opportunity for student Presentations.

This one day conference offers opportunities to give oral or poster presentations. There will be monetary awards/prizes for the top poster presentations. Also, food (breakfast, lunch and breaks) will be included as part of the registration fees. Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and meeting chair Tariq Khraishi says, "The past symposia have all been successful and we look to make this year's symposium a success as well."

Online abstract submissions for oral/poster presentations, as well as PayPal credit card payments will be open on Monday 8/16/2010.

The Albuquerque chapter of ASM and the New Mexico Section of the American Ceramics Society joined together to create this symposium in the 1990's to give materials scientists in the region an opportunity to meet and share information about their research.
