Big Brothers Big Sisters has served the Albuquerque community for more than 50 years, matching at-risk children with caring, responsible volunteers in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Their award-winning programs serve more than 1,600 youth in central New Mexico annually and more than 3,000 throughout the state.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ largest annual fundraising campaign. The event has been held across the country for over 50 years. The money raised will be used to support quality mentoring matches between caring adult volunteers and at-risk children in New Mexico.

Led by Mark Reynolds in The University of  New Mexico's Information Technologies Department, a team has been created to participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico’s signature event, Bowl for Kids’ Sake and other departments are encouraged to do the same. The event is set for Saturday, April 18 at Isleta Fun Connection.

This year’s fundraising theme is a spin-off of the Star Wars series titled “Lane Wars” Attendees are encouraged to use the force and wear their best costumes this side of the galaxy.

Bowling teams are made up of hundreds of local businesses, schools, organizations and individuals. Participants are able to register as a team or individual at 2020 Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
