Star Wars fans, The University of New Mexico's Student Activities Center is moving forward with its annual May the Fourth celebration, and this year everything will be online.

"This is one of our most popular, annual events where we get to involve the community and we want to uphold that tradition," said Ryan Lindquist, Student Activities Center director. "This year, although we cannot meet in person, we still have the opportunity to show off how creative, social and community based Lobos can be on May the Fourth (Star Wars Day)."

The celebration will begin Monday, May 4th at 11 a.m.

11 a.m. | Webinar with NM Lego User Group via Zoom

  • Lego design discussion
  • Star Wars Lego demonstration

12 p.m. | Meet New Mexico Stormtroopers

  • Q&A session about costume assembly, community service and Star Wars

12:30 p.m. | Quarantine Cosplay Contest

  • Lobos and community members can use household items to design/create a costume or a scene from Star Wars
  • Take photos and submit them to sac@unm.edu by Sunday, May 3 at 5 p.m.
  • UNM winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card
  • Community winner will win a classic May the Fourth T-shirt

1 p.m. | Star Wars Live Trivia via Twitch

  • Five rounds of Star Wars virtual triva
  • UNM winners will receive Amazon gift cards
  • Community winners will receive classic May the Fourth T-shirts
