In 2019, The University of New Mexico announced it was teaming up with Adobe to make UNM an Adobe Creative Campus. Using that partnership as a springboard, UNM has created an Adobe Creative Commons where students, faculty, and staff have technological resources available to inspire their next creative idea.

Being one of a select group of Adobe Creative Campuses enables Lobos access to the Adobe Creative Cloud and the ability to express their creativity with the world’s best graphic design and video editing apps and services.  The collection of over 20 apps is used for photography, video, design, illustrating, and more. UNM was chosen to become a creative campus because of the its recognition of the value digital literacy has in higher education

The Adobe Creative Commons, opening to the campus community on Jan. 26, 2022, is a space in Zimmerman Library intended to function as a creative space for Lobos. Resources available will include secluded editing bays with Macs and PCs preloaded with the Adobe Creative Suite, audio/video equipment checkout, Creative Cloud application support, workshops, classes and more.

Starting Jan. 26 Lobos are welcome to use Adobe Creative Commons on the first floor of Zimmerman Library.

The space was partially funded through the student technology fee. A more detailed cost breakdown and frequently asked questions can be viewed here. The Adobe Creative Campus project is ongoing through support from UNM Information Technologies, the Office of the Provost, University Libraries, Honors College and many other campus partners.
