According to the Veterans Resource Center at UNM, the N.M. Department of Veterans' Services (NMDVS), in cooperation with the N.M. Department of Tourism, has announced the debut of the Veteran's Enchantment Discount Card for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

This free card entitles veterans to receive discounts from participating merchants throughout the state of N.M. Discounts such as savings of 50 percent, buy-one-get-one-free, additional free nights at lodging establishments and other similar offers are determined solely by the participating merchants. So far, more than 600 restaurants, stores, hotels, shops, tourist attractions and other businesses throughout the state have agreed to participate in the Veterans' Enchantment Discount Card program and more are signing up every day. Cardholders need only show their card to receive discounts.

"We are proud to offer the Veterans' Enchantment Discount Card to our veterans," said NMDVS Cabinet Secretary John Garcia. "It offers a variety of extremely generous savings to veterans from local merchants who are grateful for their service to our country."

To receive the discount card, veterans need only stop by any of the 19 NMDVS field offices statewide. Applicants must also bring a copy of their DD-214 or a military ID card to prove their military service.

For a list of participating merchants, go to NMDVS.  Look under "Participating Businesses Sorted by Region" and then click on desired region.
