The UNM Foundation recently kicked off its WeGiveUNM Faculty and Staff campaign. Throughout February, faculty and staff at The University of New Mexico are asked to participate in the WeGiveUNM campaign supporting various funds associated with academic programs and schools, student life, UNM health system, and community programs.

The WeGiveUNM campaign is an annual effort supporting UNM2040: Opportunity Defined, a multi-year plan to build the future of UNM. Faculty and staff members invest time, talents, and abilities into UNM. Financial commitments further demonstrate their commitment to UNM’s mission and the success of all those associated with the university. Gifts from faculty and staff provide scholarships, investments in education and innovation, patient resources, and enhanced academic programming.

The UNM Foundation strives to meet a participation goal set at 30 percent. To boost participation, UNM President Garnett S. Stokes will provide an additional $10,000 in gift funds split between the top-five departments, schools, or units with the most participation.

Faculty and staff campaigns are vital elements to advance the mission of most institutions. Tuition doesn't cover the actual cost of education at The University of New Mexico. Endowment and gifts to the university help cover much of the remaining cost. Throughout the year, UNM Foundation reaches out to alumni, friends, and non-donors to ensure the gap between education and tuition is met.

To participate in WeGiveUNM, visit WeGiveUNM and provide a gift before Feb. 28. Entire gifts, via credit card or payroll deduction, are delivered to the fund of the donor’s choosing. All donations are tax-deductible.

The UNM Foundation promotes excellence at The University of New Mexico by raising, investing, and managing private gifts by cultivating long-term partnerships with donors and matching their interests to the University's priorities. As an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the Foundation provides donors the opportunity to support University projects and programs.
