The time has come for the University of New Mexico's most outstanding juniors, seniors and graduate students to be recognized for their achievements through the 2011-12 "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" award. The application deadline for this year's competition is Monday, Dec. 5 by 5 p.m.

"Who's Who" is a national program established in 1945 by H. Pettus Randall II to recognize academic achievement on college campuses. More than 2,842 schools participate nationwide.

Students may apply directly or be nominated by another individual  based on academic performance, leadership and integrity in both academic and co-curricular activities, service in the university or community and potential for future achievement.

Individuals who have previously received recognition must exhibit a continued record of excellence and a sufficient number of new or expanded accomplishments.

In order to be eligible:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled at the University of New Mexico

  • Applicant must be a junior or senior (at least 60 credit hours earned) or a graduate student in good academic standing with their college

  • Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5

 Submit applications to Student Activities, room 1018 in the Student Union Building. There is no fee.
