The University of New Mexico’s Innovation Academy hosts a non-traditional job fair focused on creating jobs rather than finding one. The Create Your Own Job Fair, sponsored by Nusenda Federal Credit Union, is Tuesday, March 27, from 2 – 4:30 p.m.
The fair will be held at the Lobo Rainforest located at 101 Broadway Blvd., NE in downtown Albuquerque.
The fair, which is geared toward students but open to the community, features all the resources necessary to start up a business. Anyone interested in finding out more, whether they are ready to open a business or still in the early stages of ideas, will benefit from the many organizations attending.
“With career fair season in full-swing, the Innovation Academy wanted to offer something new and different for students who are more interested in creating their own paths,” said Robert DelCampo, executive director, Innovation Academy. “We think it’s important for students to be exposed to other options, to let them see they don’t have to take the traditional paths.”
Available resources include: City of Albuquerque, Secretary of State, New Mexico Tax and Revenue, WESST, Sandia National Labs C3, ABQid, Investors and Venture Capitalists, Air Force Research Labs, Los Alamos National Laboratories, STC.UNM, SCORE, SVEDC, CNM Tax Help, Small Business Development Center, Free Range Co-Working space, and UNM Small Business Institute.
Bring your ideas and be ready to connect with important business start-up resources.
