• Francis-Yan Cyr-Racine is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

  • He served as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University before his role at The University of New Mexico.

  • Cyr-Racine's research focuses on astronomy and astrophysics, cosmology, and particle physics.

  • Cyr-Racine has published and co-written several research pieces. At UNM, his research on the “Mirror Word” gained traction and was featured in a research news site, Popular Mechanics.

  • He runs a research group on campus that explores particle cosmology, and was just awarded an NSF Grant to collaborate with UC Irvine Scientists on dark matter physics.

  • Cyr-Racine received his doctorate at the University of British Columbia, his M.A. in science from McGill University, and a B.A. in Science from McGill University.

Areas of Interest
Particle astrophysics, impact of nonstandard dark matter on structure formation and astrophysical observations, and search for new physics in cosmological data.
