Kerry Howe is a professor in the Civil Engineering Department and the Director of the Center for Water and the Enviroment. He is also a registered professional engineer (P.E.) and a board certified environmental engineer (BCEE) by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.


  • BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Wisconsin Madison, University of Texas at Austin, and University of Illinois.
  • Worked for 12 years as a consulting engineer and 11 years at UNM.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE). Author of two textbooks on water treatment.
