Engineering and computer science undergraduate students from UNM are invited to register for the New Mexico Tracer FIRE cybersecurity challenge event, which will be held Aug. 27-29.

Tracer FIRE is seeking students from the freshman to senior level, where students will investigate advanced persistent threat (APT) style adversary throughout the simulation. Up to 10 UNM students will be selected, and teams will be hosted in-person at the Engineering Student Success Center on the UNM campus.

The deadline for registration is Aug. 19.

This event gives students insight into how to recognize adversarial tactics within the kill chain such as reconnaissance, attack vector, exploitation and exfiltration.

It is being organized by Sandia National Laboratories, The University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, New Mexico Tech, and Eastern New Mexico University.
