As UNM continues the effort to scale back operations, Facilities Management (FM) staff will begin reducing their non-essential services as well.

Campus leadership is in the process of categorizing facilities by need and purpose, which will result in some buildings remaining open, while others may see limited operations or be closed completely. Following are the services offered given current circumstances, however FM staffing will change as needed to meet the needs of the campus community.

Service Requests and Work Orders
Our Work Control office will be available to accept work orders, though for best service, please submit requests online at
https://iservicedesk.unm.edu/home.html. Staff is limited so please only submit essential work orders for items that cannot or should not be postponed. Incoming work orders will be evaluated and prioritized by need and staff availability. Safety will be the highest priority.

Building Maintenance
Skeleton crews will be on campus during regular business hours conducting building inspections, as well performing necessary repairs and maintenance. Staff and service contractors will remain on-call outside of regular business hours.

Environmental Services
For buildings that remain open, custodial functions will continue. Custodial services for reduced occupancy buildings will be limited to common areas and restrooms. Exterior trash/dumpster pickup will be limited to no more than three days per week.

Recycling services will be by work order request only. Work orders will be fulfilled Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. - noon.

FM Grounds and Landscaping, including Arborists will be on a limited

FM Grounds and Landscaping, including Arborists will be on a limited schedule (between 2-4 days per week depending on function), but will continue to maintain the campus environment and work on key projects.

Special Activities will not provide moves or support events at this time.

Sign Shop services will not be offered except on an emergency basis.

Lock Shop
UNM Lock Shop will continue to manage the CCURE Access Control System and will be available to assist with updating building and clearance schedules. If these services are needed, please email
enac@unm.edu.

Lock Shop hours have been temporarily changed to Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and are allowing a maximum of two people in the lobby at a time. Upon arrival, visitors can call 277-1062 for access to the lobby.

Engineering and Energy Services staff are primarily working remotely and will continue to support ongoing projects and will be on campus as needed.
