The University of New Mexico Interdisciplinary Film & Digital Media Program (IFDM) hosts its End-of-Semester Student Showcase Saturday, May 2 at IFDM’s Mesa del Sol facility from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
The open-format showcase features work produced by IFDM students as part of their spring 2015 coursework in a variety of new and emerging technologies, including visual effects, animation, film, audio production, audio digital recording, Foley, game development, interactive and digital design, screenwriting, photography and trans media.
IFDM was established in 2007 in response to the New Mexico State Legislature’s Media Industries Strategy Project; a statewide economic initiative to develop a sustainable film and digital media industry in New Mexico. This integrated interdisciplinary academic and research program is designed to give our faculty and students the necessary critical, creative and technical skills to apply digital technologies in innovative and productive ways. Students will be on hand to discuss their projects and areas of study.
The program is unique in that students may pursue their interests in digital media in one of four partnering colleges/schools at UNM (College of Fine Arts, School of Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences and Anderson School of Management) with six possible degree options.
Mesa del Sol is located at the Aperture Center at Mesa del Sol, 5700B University West Blvd., Albuquerque, NM 87106 (next to Albuquerque Studios).
