Nominations are now being sought by the Provost & Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs to select individual staff and work groups for the annual Outstanding Staff Awards.

In addition, nominees are also being accepted for the Excellence in Advising for Academic Advisors and Excellence in Advising for Integrated Advisors awards. The Provost’s Committee for Staff and the Provost’s Committee for Advising are combining efforts for this year’s award ceremony to include all three categories.

Information for each award group is provided below.

The Provost’s Committee for Staff (PCS) solicits nominations for the Outstanding Staff Awards and Outstanding Workgroup Award. To nominate someone or a group, visit Outstanding Staff and Workgroup awards.

Nominations must be received by Friday, March 29 at 5 p.m.

2019 Provost’s Committee for Staff Awards include:

3 - Outstanding Staff Award
1 - Kindness Award
1 - Outstanding Workgroup Award

Eligibility: Regular & current non-faculty staff person or workgroup who has provided extraordinary service to the Provost’s units. Previously nominated staff or workgroups may be nominated again, provided the nominee(s) are not a past recipient of the award. Individual nominees are not eligible to receive more than one award per cycle.

Additionally, supervisors can nominate subordinate workgroups for an award, but cannot nominate a workgroup in which they actively participate (this would be considered a self-nomination). Current Provost’s Committee for Staff members are not eligible for the award.

The Provost’s Committee for Advising (PCA) awards
The PCA seeks nominations for its Excellence in Advising for Academic Advisors and the Excellence in Advising for Integrated Advisors awards. To nominate a staff advisor in an integrated or academic unit, visit: Advising Awards

Nominations will be accepted starting March 25 and must be received by Monday, April 15, no later than 5 p.m.

2019 PCA Awards will recognize recipients for each of the following categories:

  • (2) – Excellence in Advising for Academic Advisors

This award is available to staff academic advisors in various colleges assigned to students based on the students’ major.

  • (2) – Excellence in Advising for Integrated Advisors

This award is available to staff integrated advisors who serve within the areas of Athletics, Enrollment Management, Provost’s Office, and/or Student Affairs.

Eligibility: Current non-faculty staff advisors who have provided extraordinary service to students and the UNM community. Nominees must have been in the staff advising profession at UNM for a minimum of 6 months. Additionally, nominees should be in good standing with their employment and must not have received an Excellence in Advising award within the last 5 years. Self-nominations will not be accepted.
