The University of New Mexico announces several updates to its dining program, set to roll out this spring.
Among the highlights is the arrival of Freshens, a new dining option coming soon to the Student Union Building (SUB). Freshens will feature a selection of customizable and flavorful options, including bowls, salads, toasts, and smoothies, catering to various dietary preferences and offering wholesome, delicious meals to the UNM community.

Local ABQ, the SUB's rotating restaurant concept, continues to showcase Albuquerque's diverse culinary scene by welcoming Ace’s Fry Guy as its newest vendor. Known for their golden, crispy fries and inventive comfort food, Ace’s Fry Guy offers a must-try dining experience. Local ABQ provides students with the opportunity to explore the rich flavors of Albuquerque while supporting local businesses, fostering a connection between the campus and the community.
Additionally, UNM Food is enhancing accessibility by introducing SNAP/EBT acceptance at the Mercado convenience stores located in the Student Union Building and the Student Residence Commons. This initiative aims to ensure greater convenience for students, faculty, and staff who are enrolled in these benefits, allowing for easy food purchases. If you are interested in applying for SNAP or learning more about eligibility, you can schedule a meeting with a member of the social work team in the UNM Dean of Students Office by emailing, socialwork@unm.edu.
The Dean of Students Office will host a SNAP-A-PALOOZA event on March 12 from 12-2 p.m. outside of the SUB, where you can enroll and ask questions.
As part of the ongoing efforts to improve campus dining experiences, UNM Food wants to learn more about your coffee habits. Complete the quick Coffee Survey for a chance to win one of ten $25 gift cards. Your feedback will help to shape future coffee offerings on campus.
