Dream Act students of Albuquerque and their allies and supporters host a community event for parents and students of all ages to celebrate both Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos, on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 6-10 p.m. at Plaza de Encuentro, 714 4th St., SW.

Attendees will enjoy a night of music, games, a costume contest and hours of entertainment. Monetary donations will be accepted at the door.

As a border state, New Mexico counts with various immigration issues that affect families, students and communities. NM DIA believes it is important to discuss, at a national level, various strategies to help diminish the number of student deportations, broken families and abuses to the immigrant community. To shed light on these issues, NM DIA will represent New Mexico at the United We Dream National Congress in Dallas, Texas in November.

To be able to represent New Mexico at the national congress, Albuquerque Dreamers need to raise funds to cover traveling costs, thus the "Dia De Los Dreamers Halloween Fundraiser."
