Twice a year, UNM Staff Council organizes Staff as Students – an event centered on helping UNM staff take advantage of their tuition remission benefits. On Monday, April 4, from 11a.m – 1p.m., staff can visit SUB Ballrooms B and C to take part in the spring Staff as Students event.

Staff receive priority registration status, waived application fees, and expedited paperwork processing throughout the event. During the event, staff assist each other by providing services related to admission, registration, tuition remission benefit and advisement. Staff can also network and learn about various degree programs, personal and professional development options, and distance education.

During Staff as Students, representatives from the Office of Admissions, Bursar and the Registrar, Continuing Education, Office of Graduate Studies, Employee and Organizational Development and more. Advisors from different schools, college, and programs will also be in attendance. Staff who attend will be able to enter for a chance to win one of three $25 Lobo Cash gift cards if the visit at least four different department booths.

Staff who are unable to attend the event should use their @unm.edu email account to message DEPT_Update-L@list.unm.edu beginning March 28. The email should include the staff member’s name, term for which they wish to register (Summer/Fall/both), and their UNM ID. Staff who attend Staff as Students in person will be the first to get their registration overrides; those who email will receive their overrides after the in-person event.
