UNM Sociology professor emeritus Howard Waitzkin will discuss how teachers and learners cope with feeling like strangers in educational institutions when he presents "Recognizing the Stranger in Paradise," Thursday from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Student Union Building's Lobo B room.

In his presentation Waitzkin, UNM Presidential Teaching Fellow (2010-2012), will focus on the need of educators who feel they are alienated within academia and learners whose feelings of alienation comes partly from their roots in families and communities characterized by poverty and limited educational opportunities.
