'We Are This City'
UNM alumna Rachel Hendrix produced 'We Are This City' for іCOLORES!

іCOLORES! is the weekly local and national series airing this Saturday, June 10 at 4 p.m. on New Mexico PBS channel 5.1 & Repeats Friday, June 16 at 8 p.m. on Ch. 9.1

This week’s segment was produced by UNM student Rachel Hendrix.

“Rachel really wanted to work on a community building project in producing a story for ¡COLORES!   So, when she found ‘We Are This City,’ it was a great fit. She worked hard to find the events, interviews and locations that would tell an interesting story and she did it all with a great attitude,” said producer Tara Walch.

“We Are This City” uses interactive art experiences to invite community members to participate in fun. “Fun, what I found, breaks down boundaries. When you’re having fun with someone you’re not thinking about your differences,” said Max Baptiste, adventure capitalist for “We Are This City.”

іCOLORES! is a weekly art series with stores devoted to the creative spirit. This series features local and national stories about film, visual and performing arts, theatre, photography, literature, painting, sculpture, poetry and dance, and provides an in-depth look at the inspiration, challenges and processes of a wide range of artists.

The producer of іCOLORES! is Tara Walch; Unit Coordinator is Kathy Wimmer. Executive Producer is Michael Kamins. Funding for ¡COLORES! is provided in part by The Nellita E. Walker Fund, KNME-TV Endowment Fund, The Great Southwestern Arts & Education Endowment Fund…and viewers like you.
